Dillon Markey is a seasoned stop-motion animator, director, and educator renowned for his innovative approach to animation and product development. Since earning his MFA from the California Institute of the Arts in 2009, Dillon has contributed to numerous acclaimed projects, including serving as Lead Animator for Emmy Award Winning Season 8 of Robot Chicken and co-animating the Oscar-nominated short Fresh Guacamole with PES.
In 2015, Dillon gained recognition for modifying a Nintendo Power Glove into a wireless tool for controlling animation software, a feat showcased in the documentary Playing with Power. His passion for innovation extends beyond animation; in 2017, he founded Ride DNA, a company dedicated to developing cutting-edge micromobility products like the Ride DNA Smart Grips.
An advocate for education, Dillon has taught animation at Hampshire College in Massachusetts, Laguna College of Art and Design, Los Angeles Southwest College, and more. He has conducted workshops and lectures worldwide. Now based in Prague, Czechia, he continues to blend creativity and technology, seeking opportunities to animate, innovate, and educate.
